Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 20, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how RaidLabs (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our website at raidlabs.net and related services.

1. Information We Collect

Information from Steam Authentication

When you sign in through Steam OpenID, we receive and store:

  • Steam ID (Steam64): Your unique numeric Steam identifier.
  • Display Name: Your current Steam profile name.
  • Avatar URL: The URL of your Steam profile avatar image.
  • Profile URL: The URL of your Steam community profile.

We do not receive or store your Steam password, email address, payment information, or friends list.

Information Generated Through Use

  • Build Data: When you save a build in-game, the associated build files (structure data, thumbnail images, 3D viewer data, and resource cost breakdowns) are stored on our servers.
  • Public Build Data: If you choose to make a build public, a copy of the build files and your Steam display name are made visible to all visitors.
  • Votes: When you upvote or downvote a public build, we store your Steam ID alongside the vote to enforce one-vote-per-user.
  • Comments: When you post a comment on a public build, we store the comment text, your Steam ID, display name, and avatar URL.

Session Data

We use an encrypted, HTTP-only session cookie (raidlabs_session) to keep you signed in. This cookie contains your Steam ID, display name, avatar URL, and profile URL in encrypted form. It expires after 30 days of inactivity.

Server Logs

Our web server may automatically log standard request information including IP addresses, browser user-agent strings, and pages visited. These logs are used for security monitoring and debugging, and are not shared with third parties.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To authenticate you and maintain your session across the site.
  • To display your builds, comments, and votes.
  • To associate in-game saves with your account.
  • To enforce voting limits (one vote per user per build).
  • To moderate content and enforce our Terms of Service.
  • To process VIP subscriptions and donations (if applicable, handled through third-party payment processors).

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. Your information may be visible to others in the following ways:

  • Your Steam display name and avatar are shown alongside public builds and comments you post.
  • Your Steam ID is included in share URLs for your builds (e.g., /user/[steamId]).

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety and security of our users and services.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on servers located in the European Union. We use encrypted session cookies and HTTPS to protect data in transit. While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

5. Data Retention

  • Build data is retained as long as you keep it saved. Deleted builds are removed from active storage but may be retained in backup archives.
  • Comments and votes are retained until you delete them or they are removed by moderation.
  • Session cookies expire after 30 days.

6. Your Rights

You may:

  • Delete your public builds and comments at any time through the website.
  • Sign out to clear your session cookie.
  • Request deletion of your account data by contacting us through our Discord server.

7. Third-Party Services

  • Steam (Valve Corporation): We use Steam OpenID for authentication. Your use of Steam is subject to Valve’s Privacy Policy.
  • Rustlabs: Item icons are loaded from rustlabs.com. We do not control their data practices.

8. Children’s Privacy

RaidLabs does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us through our Discord server so we can take appropriate action.
